Advocacy - State Issues
LWVDL members participate in advocacy on important issues identified by the LWV of Illinois.
At the event on May 26, attendees were encouraged to contact their state legislators, in the last few days of the Illinois General Assembly's session, to advocate for a ban on polystyrene food containers.

At the event on April 29, attendees sent the postcards below to their State of Illinois Representatives and Senators.

Members attended the LWVIL 2026 Issues Briefing:

The League of Women Voters Deerfield/Lincolnshire joined with the Leagues of Highland Park/Highwood, Lake Forest-Lake Bluff, and Grayslake-Round Lakes-Waukegan to participate in the LWVIL Gun Violence Position Update Study. As part of the self-education aspect of the study, we co-hosted three online programs to help our members be well-informed in order to contribute to our responses to the study questions. Our group also prepared written study materials which were distributed to members before the study consensus meeting.
